I've been struggling with getting Mephisto working on DreamHost shared hosting but I think I've got my head round it now. I followed Labrat's excellent instructions but being a RoR newb I still struggled and haven't fully understood the implications of what I've done. The only major modification I made was to use a different dispatch.rb file than the one supplied with Mephisto. I've attached it to the article in case anyone feels like using it.

I've also been designing a new template for my blog which is evolving and will probably change a fair bit. It was inspired by the admin section's red and black colours and heavily influenced by the dark mood I was in today. Still, at least it isn't the stock template anymore. Thats not to say I didn't think that template was excellent but its always nice to create your own and learn something along the way.

I've used Dan's last.fm plugin to display my recent track list, but I'm not sure how the page caching will effect it, so it may not be very current. We'll see...
